The Rock from Which You Are Hewn

Hello Family,

I would like to share a word of encouragement that God wants you to reflect on in this season of your life.

Isaiah 51:1-3 NIV

1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness
    and who seek the LORD :
    Look to the rock from which you were cut
    and to the quarry from which you were hewn;

2 look to Abraham, your father,
    and to Sarah, who gave you birth.
    When I called him he was but one,
    and I blessed him and made him many.

3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion
    and will look with compassion on all her ruins;
    he will make her deserts like Eden,
    her wastelands like the garden of the LORD.
    Joy and gladness will be found in her,
    thanksgiving and the sound of singing.”

Instead of us growing in our trust and faith that God will fulfill His plan for our lives, we can succumb to the enemy who wants us to think we’ve been forgotten or forsaken.  The wilderness, desert, and wasteland, exists to bring us to a place of seeking HIM.  Over time we develop the disciplines of seeking God BEYOND what He can do for us.  God’s objective is for us to seek Him because of who HE IS.

There’s a depth that God is working in us by seeking Him.  He wants our joy and satisfaction to come out of our time of communion with Him WHILE we’re in the wilderness, desert, and wasteland.  When we get to this place, we are then in a position to see God turn our deserts into EDEN and wastelands like the GARDEN OF THE LORD.

This is a season of favor, surprises, and exceeding blessings.  Do not be discouraged if you have not seen the manifestation of your desires yet.  Remember the rock from which you are hewn.  God made Abraham a NATION!

You are a part of that inheritance.

Gerard
