Walk Through The Door

I’m excited today because I’m aware that God has placed many of us before an open door of opportunity. A passage that I’ve referenced in the past is 1 Cor. 16:8, 9 where Paul states, “8I will remain in Ephesus [however] until Pentecost, 9For a wide door of opportunity for effectual [service] has opened to me [there, a great and promising one], and [there are] many adversaries.” (Amplified)
I’d like to cite 2 more versions of 1 Cor. 16:8, 9 before giving a brief exhortation.
1 Corinthians 16:8-10 (New Living Translation)
“In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost, 9for there is a wide-open door for a great work here, and many people are responding. But there are many who oppose me.”
1 Corinthians 16:8,9 (The Message)
“For the present, I’m staying right here in Ephesus. 9A huge door of opportunity for good work has opened up here. (There is also mushrooming opposition.)”
Paul was aware that there was a divine assignment he had in Ephesus. This opportunity was evidenced by a measure of fruitfulness already taking place. The door that you are before is in the area (if you have not recognized this yet) where you see the blessing of God. The blessing is not just for your benefit, but the benefit of others.
In this season of my life, I am clearly seeing the blessing of God in 3 primary areas, beginning with the launch of www.you129.com. I am also seeing an expansion in my speaking ministry which is going beyond hosting concerts, speaking at churches, or non-profit organizations, but now college campuses and corporations. Lastly, as I have transitioned out of BET, I have several options being discussed to return to television in a fresh, creative, and potentially revolutionary way.
While there are clearly opportunities in these areas (as well as some I have not mentioned) there is always opposition. Typically, opposition is in the form of intimidating forces aimed at distracting you from going through the door God has ordained. These forces can operate through people or things. As you are standing before your open door you may find yourself (suddenly) confronting a physical challenge. A crisis in your finances or family may arise. You may undergo some verbal persecution or slander.
Just understand that these issues are distractions and in Christ you have the spiritual authority to tell the devil to BACK OFF! That’s right… tell him to back off your family…back off your finances… back off your body… BACK OFF! Remind the opposition and yourself of 1 John 4:4 “…greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” Declare “If God is for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)
Then Praise God, smile… and walk through that open door.
