He was gunned down in church, even, if you can believe that.
The foul murderer who shot him down in the house of God was absolutely goaded into it by Randall Terry and other radical anti-choice groups. As happened to David Duke of the KKK, these groups need to be held responsible and punitive damages paid until Randall Terry has to find a real job.
Late-term abortions do not take place just because the mother didn’t get to it until the last trimester. Late-term abortions (like all abortions) are a horrible tragedy. They are only done if there is gross deformity, the child would not survive labour or who is already dead, or that the mother couldn’t survive labour herself. No one gaily performs, or submits to, abortion. No medical professional thinks it’s a lark. Pretty pictures of babies have nothing to do with this matter. Why don’t they put a picture of a baby born without a head (and I can assure you that once you see one, you don’t forget it) who will die once the cord is cut.? How about a picture of a woman who died in labour, or a woman who had no other choice than an illegal abortion and died a horrible death? These are the real abortion stories.
What bodily function of a male is legislated by law? There isn’t one.

The murder was disgusting, sickening. Even if they strongly believe that abortion is wrong this can not justify their action. I agree with your points about late abortion.

I don’t have words to express my disgust and shame about this terrible murder, there is no possible justification for it. Heretoday I loved your post, thank you.

Some other tragic and chilling details emerge about this tragedy:

Dr Tiller would fly, at his own expense, ten and eleven year old victims of incest from places like the Mississippi Delta, that have no women’s clinics, and he did so at his own expense.

When the murderer’s wife heard the news of Dr Tiller’s assassination, she said that she immediately knew that it was her ex-husband who did the deed.

When people would ask Dr Tiller, who obviously didn’t need the money and was in great personal peril, why he persisted in performing abortions, he said, “These women need me, and most have nobody else.”

I am so very sorry that this has happened. What sort of people think they have the right to kill people just because they disagree with them

I guess one bad thing about my campaign to “turn off the news” is that I don’t really know what’s going on in
order to discuss the stories.  I only know about Dr. Tiller what you’ve said in these posts.  What a horrible
tragedy to happen… to anyone.  It’s always jerks like the killer who make “the other side” look so bad… it’s
not just in this direction… if pro abortion people would kill a minister preaching against it… same story.

I personally like the term “pro-choice”, but I get your meaning, Katharina. If a pro choice person murdered someone of the opposite side, it would be as horrible.
I’‘ll tell you that Dr Tiller had his private phone number and address put on the Operation Rescue website. They called him names like “killer Tiller”, and anything else to demonise the Doctor.
His clinic was either bombed or set on fire a few years ago (I’m sorry I don’t know which). He was shot in both arms a few years ago (again, I’m sorry that I don’t know if that happened at one or more points).
Found in the murderer’s pocket was the address of the church and a phone number of one of the women who is high up in Operation Rescue, obviously in her own handwriting..
The anti-choice people have so much passion, and energy. If they could turn away from this privacy issue, the right of a woman to choose what happens to her body, and applied themselves to another Childrens’  cause, what a great deal of change they could make! Children’s nutrition, education, health, adoptions, welfare; all of these major causes desperately need committed, child loving folk to work for them!  Brothers and sisters in opposition, please consider this!

That is so true, they could do so much good. I really don’t understand how they can justify murdering anyone just because they disagree with them.

Kernow, it’s a slippery slope for sure. The danger comes when folk decide they know what God wants, and in this judging, they feel justified in their actions. If God wanted Dr Tiller dead, I think He could have accomplished it His own self. Or, sorry; She could have accomplished it…
